Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic, part-time/full-time Esthetician for our growing skincare studio in Oakland’s Laurel District. Join our team if you are passionate about skincare and looking to share your gifts in a positive, fun, loving environment.
Job Status: Part-time, full-time, on-call
Compensation: $23/Hourly, plus tip and monthly bonuses
Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings

Skincare Enthusiast: You prioritize your skincare, understanding that taking care of yourself inside and out is key to maintaining a healthy and clear complexion. You love the natural look and ensure your skin is always glowing, clear and healthy.
Beauty Care Advocate: You present yourself with a polished and professional appearance. Your eyebrows are always groomed and pronounced, your lashes stand out tastefully, and your lips are freshly tinted with gloss or a lip stain/color. Your hair is neat and sleek, whether freshly styled or not, and your nails are always well-maintained.
Captivating Personality: You are energetic, loving, and kind, fueled by community and relationships. You have a magnetic personality that draws people in and makes them feel welcome and cared for.
Work Passionate: You find purpose in your work and enjoy showing up each day, giving your best to every client. You value work-life balance and understand the importance of giving attention to all three aspects. You desire to learn continuously, knowing there is always more to master. Training at our studio involves shadowing Maisha and other team members. This is a crucial part of our process to ensure you understand our methods and maintain our high standards. Essential Functions:
- Ability to perform a complete array of waxing, body treatment, and facial services
- Willing to work flexible days and hours (Saturday is a must)
- Ability to teach clients about proper skincare during service and consultations (training will be provided to you)
- Capable of selling memberships and products
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and professional environment, including daily cleaning checklists and other cleaning duties as needed
- Support and protect our culture, including teamwork and non-competitiveness
- Follows safety standards in all aspects of the performance of the above functions
- Other duties as assigned in the spirit of teamwork
Position Qualifications and Requirements:
- Current California state-licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist
- Excellent waxing skills and technique, preferred
- Exceptional time management skills
- Professional customer service
- Must love to work with a team
- Sales experience is a plus and preferred
- Willingness to self-promote
Preferred:
- Previous waxing experience in a salon/spa
